With our Share|Care|Repair program, FRēBIKE will repurpose high-quality used bicycles, fix them up to be practical commuters, paint them brightly so they stand out proudly, and distribute them throughout the Northwest Roanoke community near parks, schools, housing, and commercial centers.

We want to build and provide a practical transportation alternative that will instill a sense of pride and well-being in the people who use them. The bikes will be very unique, and FRēBIKE will hold community engagement events such as fun races and repair workshops to encourage stewardship of these vehicles.

As the program picks up steam, we will establish a co-operative space in which to teach people how to maintain their bikes, and to pass that knowledge onto their families, friends, and neighbors. Together, we will take ownership of an important part of the community, and spread that ownership to all parts of the community!
